About Me
I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1999 as a Signal Support Systems Specialist (MOS 25U). After graduating as distinguished honor graduate at Advanced Individual Training I was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum New York. I participated in peacekeeping operations in Kosovo and the Invasion of Iraq 2003.
As an undergraduate at Indiana University Purdue University – Indianapolis I founded the student veterans group Veterans@IUPUI. Representing the largest student veteran population in Indiana, I successful led the campaign to establish an office of veterans Affairs on campus. My peers recognized my innovation, dedication, and leadership by twice electing me as a Board member and officer of Student Veterans of America (SVA).
In 2010 I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. I then had the privilege of interning with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) as a strategic partnerships intern. I have also participated in numerous veterans support panels and grass roots endeavors.
Since 2011 I have been an instructor for the MOS 25U course in the Army Reserve. I am currently pursing my Masters in Public Affairs concentrating in non-profit management.
